In order to further the goals of Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD), the Global UGRAD Internship Program (GUIP) enables recently returned Global UGRAD alumni to grow professionally in their home communities and resultantly utilize the training and education they received in the United States. USG alumni who meet the eligibility requirements listed in this application may receive a stipend of up to $150/month for part-time work or $250/month for full time work for a three to four month internship commitment at an organization.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION CRITERIA:
In order to receive the GUIP stipend, the applicant must meet the following Eligibility Requirements:
• Be an alumnus in good standing of the Global UGRAD program.
• Be an alumnus from the 2008-2009, 2009-2010, or 2010-2011 academic years.
• Be able to secure his/her own employment/internship during the academic semester. Eligible applications will be reviewed competitively against the following Selection Criteria:
• Applicant justifies sound reasoning for pursuing work at their chosen organization.
• Applicant provides concrete examples of knowledge and skills s/he will learn from colleagues.
• Applicant indicates how the work directly builds upon study and internship in the US.
• Demonstrated ability of the applicant to take initiative.
• Preference will be given to those applicants that have not applied for other US government alumni grants.
